about
Funny story: when I first wrote this, I got all the way to the last stanza before realizing in all my season-descriptions, I forgot to include spring! So I quickly wrote in a single line mentioning it.
lyrics
LYRICS:
Snowflakes melting on my tongue,
Remind me while the night's still young,
Who turned out the stars?
There's a train going north-west,
And you know I always try my best.
When the skies clear, I'll be gone.
And the last you'll hear from me
Will be the last time that I see
My home
Summer's breezing on its way,
And I don't know if I'm gonna stay,
But the lights here are brighter than most.
The Days are short and the nights are long,
The moon is bright so I play along,
But by daybreak I'll be gone.
And the last you'll hear from me
Will be the last time that I see
My home.
The greens are turning into brown,
And it's probably time that I left town,
So I'll leave you all to hibernate.
Winter's getting on its way,
Christmas's been out in his sleigh,
And the crocuses poke out their heads.
Thought I'd leave so long ago,
But my roots are buried in the snow,
Maybe this year there'll be spring.
And the last you'll hear from me
Will be the first time that I greet
The new year.
